15 Mar Two Devilishly Delicious Cake Shake Drink Recipes
Have a sweet tooth? Love cake? Do I have the drink for you, two to be exact. CAKE SHAKES!
Have Your Cake And Drink It, Too!
A cake shake can be made with any cake, homemade or store bought. The only thing that matters is that you use a cake that you like. This is an awesome drink recipe for leftover desserts. It’s rich, decadent, luscious and better than any ordinary dessert.
When making cake shakes you can experiment with fritters, doughnuts, cupcakes, even pie. Instead of throwing stale, one day old baked sweets away, throw them in a blender with ice cream, heavy cream and a spirit or two. For a non-alcoholic version, simply leave out the spirits.
You can make cake shakes as a delicious dessert or pair them with burgers and fries. Cake shakes are also great for birthday parties instead of or in addition to birthday cake. Or just for the hell of it!
How To Make Cake Shakes
One good tip to follow when creating your cake shakes is to give some thought into what you’ll be mixing them with. For example, deep flavored cakes, such as chocolate or tiramisu, go best with spiced or aged spirits and ice cream that’s close in flavor to the cake. On the other hand, lighter, fruit-flavored cakes go well with white spirits and again, ice cream that’s flavored like the cake.
So for our chocolate cake shake recipe below, we’ll be using spiced rum, yummy Crème de Cacao Liqueur and chocolate ice cream. For the strawberry cake shake drink recipe, we’ll go with Vanilla Vodka, a bit of Limoncello and strawberry ice cream.
These drink recipes are perfect for when you want to overindulge and bring a fun element to your next birthday party or BBQ. You will never want to eat cake with a fork again!
